Business/ Investor Immigration
Canada has extensive opportunities for investing in businesses due to its low business costs and taxes. Due to its strong economy and high quality of life, people tend to immigrate to Canada for starting a business and hence create jobs for others as well as contribute in booming the Canadian economy. There are three categories of business immigration.
1. Start-up visa :
This program helps those skilled entrepreneurs with innovative business plans who are eligible to immigrate to Canada.
Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must get a positive response and a letter in support from one of the designated organizations recognized by the government of Canada for his innovative business idea.
- The applicant can apply for a start-up visa program along with 4 other people for a single business fulfilling two conditions. Firstly, each applicant gets 10 percent voting rights and second, the collective percentage of voting rights in business by all the applicants and designated organization must be more than 50 percent.
- All the applicants need to get a minimum Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) score of 5 in all sections - speaking, reading, listening and writing.
- A proof of the applicants being financially capable of supporting themselves and their dependents after the applicants comes to Canada.
2. Self-Employed Program
Those who wish to immigrate to Canada on the basis of being self-employed there can register for this program if they have an experience in cultural activities or athletics. This can enhance their chances of contributing to the athletic or cultural life of Canada. No new applications under the farm management stream of the Self-employed persons program are accepted as of March 10, 2018.
Eligibility criteria
- Every factor for visa application i.e. age, experience, language proficiency, education and adaptability has a relevant score which should be atleast 35 out of 100 to be eligible for the program.
- The applicant needs to have a minimum two years of experience in cultural activities, or athletics during the last 5 years.
- Certificates for Medical tests and police clearance are required for the whole family.
- Proof of having sufficient funds to support himself and his family after the applicant comes to Canada.
